What is Clomid?

Clomid is a widely used drug by men who uses steroid for body building. Clomid is used to bind the estrogen receptors in the body which helps restore the natural production of testosterone in the body and increases the body weight. Clomid is prescribed off-label in this purpose, because it is not approved by FDA. It is also found very effective and used as the first line treatment for infertility in women.

How does Clomid work with men in body building?

Clomid works in body building by increasing the testosterone level in the blood. So to know how it increases testosterone in blood, you need to understand how the pituitary gland controls the production of testosterone in the testis. As you know, the pituitary gland releases luteinizing hormone(LH) which influence the Leydig cells to produce testosterone. Then testosterone is converted to the female hormone estrogen which stimulates the pituitary gland to pause for the further production of LH hormone. So this is the normal process to make the hormones in control.

Now coming to the point that 'how Clomid works in body building in men'. When Clomid is taken, it blocks the estrogen at the pituitary gland. This low level of estrogen will influence increased amount of testosterone by the leydig cells of the testis. This way the testosterone level increased in the blood. Since Clomid is a testosterone stimulant. It is used after you end a cycle of steroids which helps bring the natural level of testosterone in the normal range. Clomid stimulates the hypophysis, which release the increased level of gonadotropin hormone. This will cause the rapid and increase amount of FSH(follicle stimulating hormone) and LH(leutinizing hormone). This will result in increased levels of testosterone hormones. This is the important aspect of the cycle of steroid and it works in body building.

What is the dose to use Clomid in body building?

• Clomid is used after ending a cycle of steroids.
• It is taken for 2 weeks.
• The most recommended dose is 50mg to 100mg.
• Some people start the dose at the strength of 200mg on the first day and continue to reduce the strength as the days go on.

How to take Clomid?

The half life of Clomid is 5 days. So you should not split up the doses throughout the day. If you are  using sustanon and Clomid is started after weeks of the last injection, the androgen level becomes low which cannot start sending the correct signals. Even the androgen level is little high, Clomid should be started on a high strength that can work properly. You can try 300mg on the first day, then 100mg for the next 10days and 50 mg for another 10 days.

Clomid during A Cycle

When you take anabolic steroids, the androgen level inyour body increases which makes the androgen receptors more active and the testes stops to produce the hormone testoterone. During the cycle, the androgen level become higher then the normal level. Clomid will not work when the androgen level is high. So the only benefit of Clomid during the cycle is that it works as anti-astrogen.

What is post cycle recovery design?

For a moderate length steroid cycle of 6-8 weeks, the recovery plan should be 2-3 weeks. A post cycle regimen should always include Clomid and an anti-estrogen medicine. • Second pattern: It starts with 50mg ED on the 1^st  week, 100mg on the 2^nd  week and reduce the strength to 50mg on the 3^rd week.
• Third pattern: In the last stage, 100mg ED for 2 weeks post cycle.

What are the side effects of Clomid?

Clomid is a very safe and effective drug for bodybuilders. The side effects of Clomid are very rare in men because it is well tolerated by men. But sometimes you may face some problems which are not bothersome, such as:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Hot flashes
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Temporary blurred vision.

Apart from these problems, if you notice any major symptoms during the use of Clomid, consult with your physician as early as possible to avoid any serious complication.

What are the Precautions for Clomid ?

It is always advised to take the instructions from your doctor before commencing the

Clomid during the cycle. Although clomid is well-tolerated by men, still you should take some precautions during the use:

• Always talk to your doctor, if you develop any eye problem like blurred vision, eye pain, glaucoma, Photosensitivity.
• If you experience any gastrointestinal problem like pain in the abdomen, diarrhea or vomiting, consult with your physician.
• Clomid can influence the increase the secretion of bile juice, which can lead to jaundice.
