Xalatan is belongs to the group of prostaglandin analogue. This medication can reduce the intraocular pressure by influencing the drainage of eye fluids or aqueous humour out of the eyes. Thus it protects the ophthalmic blood vessels including the optic nerve from being damaged and prevents your eyes from blindness.

This medication is used for the management of ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma.

What are the possible drug interactions of Xalatan?

This medication can interact if you use any other eye drop which contains thimerosal. So it is recommended to keep a gap of minimum 10 minutes if you are using such other medicament to avoid the complications.

Apply a drop of the Xalatan solution carefully on the affected eye before sleep. In case, if it require to apply another eye drop, always give a gap of 5 or minutes. • Always clean your hands before applying this eye suspension.

• Apply the prescribed drop into the pocket of the lower lid of the affected eye.
• After application of the eye drop, close your eyes and press on the lower lids with your finger for 2-4 minutes to prevent the solution draining out of the eyes.

• Do not rinse or wipe the medication after the application.
• Blot the excess solution with tissue paper.
