Proctosedyl Ointment is also used to treat proctitis, fissures, cryptitis, pain following rectal surgery, and rectal itching. It has the mixture of two medicines called Cinchocaine and Hydrocortisone. Cinchocaine is a restricted anaesthetic with pain relieving properties and also slow down spasm of the anal sphincter. Hydrocortisone is low power corticosteroid that is useful for reducing annoyance and itching, and this reduces release. Proctosedyl Ointment helps to prevent the pain, swelling and itching related with haemorrhoids and other rectal lesions.
Avoid taking overdose of this medicine otherwise you can feel severe side effects. You must use this medicine according to the prescription of the doctor.
People may feel some side effects like skin rash, redness and pain in skin, itching, inflammation, headache, faintness etc. If any of these effects continue or get worse, tell your doctor rapidly.
